Selection settings
Control selection dimming.
Use the Selection Box dim-opacity slider to make the active region easier to distinguish from the rest of the screen.

Set how dark the unselected screen appears
Open Settings, expand Selection Box, and use Dim opacity. The slider accepts values from 0% to 100% and controls how dark the rest of the screen appears while you draw a selection.
A lower value leaves more of the surrounding screen visible. A higher value increases the contrast between the active selection and the area outside it.

Why the control can be unavailable
When Automatic Screen Capture is enabled, LowLighter uses the saved region instead of opening the normal manual selector. Selection styling controls, including Dim opacity, are shown as unavailable until Automatic Screen Capture is turned off.
Need to change the dimming? Disable Automatic Screen Capture, adjust Selection Box, then use the manual selection workflow again.
