Resolve unavailable or duplicate hotkeys.

Learn which combinations LowLighter rejects and what remains unchanged when a shortcut cannot be saved.

When a shortcut is already in use

LowLighter checks a new combination before saving it. A shortcut already assigned to another available answer mode, a Meetings control, or Agent is rejected, and the editor identifies the existing assignment in its alert.

The previous shortcut stays in place when the check fails. Choose a different combination, then select the same mode field to record it.

Shortcuts from unavailable modes

The desktop keeps shortcut assignments separate from the modes your current account can use. When you take a combination that belongs to a mode unavailable to the current account, LowLighter can clear the unavailable mode's assignment before saving the new one.

Meetings and Agent remain reserved. Their shortcuts are checked as active application shortcuts, so a mode shortcut cannot take one of those combinations.

Keys the recorder refuses

Space and Caps Lock are not accepted as hotkey keys. The desktop shows a warning and keeps the editor in its recording flow so you can press a different combination.

If you do not want to continue, press Escape. The mode keeps the shortcut it had before the recording attempt.
