Control which answer modes stay active on Home.

Toggle standard modes on or off without losing the mode settings you have already configured.

Toggle a standard mode from its card

Click the body of a standard mode card on Home to switch that mode between enabled and disabled. The card updates its visual state and the mode's global shortcut follows the saved enabled setting.

Clicking the shortcut row, the Translate language menu, or another select control does not toggle the card. Those controls keep their own actions.

Account access controls re-enabling

Answer and Summarize can be enabled on the Free mode set. Translate, Rewrite, and Explain require the paid mode access described on Answer Modes. If a paid mode is disabled, LowLighter allows you to turn it off, but requires the relevant plan before turning it back on.

A locked card is not a toggle error. The desktop leaves locked cards in their account-controlled state and shows the plan needed to use them.

Toggle Custom Prompt from its bar

Custom Prompt uses a separate bar rather than a standard mode card. Right-click the bar to enable or disable it. Changing this state does not clear the saved prompt or its shortcut.

To set a Custom Prompt shortcut, the bar must be enabled, the account must have Pro access, and the prompt must contain text. See Custom Prompt and Mode hotkeys for the full setup.
