What Fast is for
Fast is the text-first engine. It is intended for selections where the useful information can be read as text, such as a paragraph, code sample, or text-heavy interface.
The service extracts text from the captured area and uses that text for the selected response mode. The normal Fast route does not use image understanding.
Choose Fast from Settings
- 1
Open Settings
Go to the Answer Box section and find Engine Mode.
- 2
Select Fast
Choose Fast to make text-first processing the normal engine for future screen requests.
- 3
Use a focused selection
Capture readable text and choose the answer mode that matches the task.
Fast is also the Offline AI engine. When Offline AI is active, the desktop uses the local Fast path for supported requests.
