What Offline AI does

Offline AI lets eligible paid accounts use LowLighter's local AI path without an internet connection after the required components have been downloaded. The setting is available in Settings under Offline AI.

Offline mode uses the Fast engine. The desktop supports the five standard answer modes in this path: Answer, Explain, Summarize, Rewrite, and Translate.

Prepare and enable Offline AI

  1. 1

    Open Settings

Choose Settings, then open Offline AI.

  2. 2

    Download the components

Use Download under Offline AI Components and wait for the download to finish.

  3. 3

    Enable Offline Mode

Turn on Enable Offline Mode after the components are ready.

  4. 4

    Use a standard mode

Press a mode shortcut and select text-heavy content for the local request.

Offline AI is available to Basic and Pro accounts. Free and trial access cannot enable the setting.

Understand the local path

Fast engine
Offline mode keeps processing on the local Fast path. Auto and Vision are unavailable while the mode is active.
Text-heavy selections
Articles, documents, multiple-choice questions, and code are the examples shown in the desktop help for this workflow.
Online visual processing
Images, diagrams, handwriting, and mathematical notation use Auto or Vision after you turn Offline Mode off.

Automatic Screen Capture is a separate path. It uses Vision while enabled, so turn it off before enabling Offline Mode.
