System docsAnswer box opacity

Adjust answer-box opacity and border.

Use the Background opacity slider and Border visibility switch to control how the standard answer surface sits over your work.

Set the background opacity

Open Settings and use the Background opacity slider in Answer Box. The control accepts values from 0% to 100%.

A lower value makes the answer surface more transparent over the application behind it. A higher value makes its background more solid. The setting applies to the standard answer surface.

Show or hide the answer-box border

Use Border visibility to show or hide the outline around the standard answer box. The switch is independent of Background opacity, so you can keep a transparent background with a visible outline or remove the outline while keeping the background.

  1. 1

    Open Settings

    Select the Answer Box section.

  2. 2

    Adjust Background opacity

Move the slider until the response has the level of transparency you want.

  3. 3

    Set Border visibility

Turn the switch on or off to keep or remove the outline.

Preview or restore the standard surface

Choose Show Preview to open a sample answer box using the current appearance settings. Choose Reset to Defaults when you want to restore the standard Answer Box settings, including opacity and border visibility.

Using Phantom? Phantom has its own answer-surface appearance controls. Use Phantom appearance when you want to change the protected surface rather than the standard Answer Box.
