Allow screen inspection when a task needs it

Turn on Allow screen inspection when needed when Agent should use the visible state of an application to understand the next step. Leave it off when the task can be completed from the browser, files, or information already in the conversation.

Agent does not read protected password values from secure text fields. Enter passwords, passkeys, verification codes, and other private sign-in details yourself.

Review inspection in Ask before running mode

Ask before running applies to screen inspection. Agent pauses and shows the requested action before it inspects the screen. Full access lets the task continue without that extra approval when the setting is enabled.

The setting stays in your control. Turn screen inspection off whenever you do not want visible application context included in Agent work.

Control scheduled-task inspection separately

On macOS, Allow screen inspection in scheduled tasks is a separate choice. Enable it only when a saved task needs the visible screen to complete its work.

Scheduled tasks are not available in the current Windows build.
