What the Phantom menu-bar control changes

The Phantom System card includes a control for hiding LowLighter from the Menu Bar on macOS or the tray area on Windows while Phantom is active. The setting changes the desktop icon presence associated with LowLighter.

It does not disable Phantom, close the answer surface, or change the protected presentation.

Hide or restore the desktop icon

  1. 1

    Open Phantom

Choose Phantom from the LowLighter sidebar and enable the mode.

  2. 2

    Open System

    Expand the System card.

  3. 3

    Toggle the menu-bar control

Enable Hide LowLighter from Menu Bar to hide the icon while Phantom is active.

  4. 4

Turn it off to restore the icon

Disable the same control when you want LowLighter to appear in the menu bar or tray again.

This is a Phantom system preference. Phantom Appearance controls the answer surface; the menu-bar control changes only LowLighter's desktop icon presence.
