The modes shown on Home

Home presents five standard answer cards: Answer, Summarize, Translate, Rewrite, and Explain. Each card identifies its purpose and shows the shortcut assigned to that mode.

Answer
Respond directly to selected screen content.
Summarize
Reduce selected content to its key points.
Translate
Translate selected content into the language chosen in the desktop.
Rewrite
Create a new version of selected text.
Explain
Make selected material easier to understand.
Custom Prompt
Apply a saved instruction to a selection. Configure it from Settings and use it with Pro access.

Mode access follows the account

The service returns the modes available to the signed-in account, and the desktop uses that state to present locked or available controls.

Free
Answer and Summarize are available.
Basic
Answer, Summarize, Translate, Rewrite, and Explain are available.
Pro
The standard modes remain available and Custom Prompt is added.

If a mode is not available, LowLighter identifies the plan required in the relevant control instead of treating the missing mode as a configuration error.

Keep the mode and engine separate

A mode describes the response you want. An engine describes how the captured screen is processed. For example, you can use Summarize with Auto, or Translate with Vision when the selection contains visual context.

Configure the response first. Choose the mode that matches the task, then choose Fast, Auto, or Vision when you need to control the processing path.
