A private workspace for a visible desktop
LowLighter normally puts answers, captures, and controls on top of the app you are using. That is convenient until your desktop is also being shared with a room, recorded for later, or used in a presentation.
Phantom Mode keeps the relevant LowLighter surfaces out of supported external capture while you can still see and use them on your own display. The shared view stays focused on what you intend to show.
It is a privacy feature, not a workaround for policies. Use it responsibly and follow the rules that apply to your organization, class, meeting, and audience.
One desktop. Two views.
The goal is simple: your own screen remains useful, while the shared or recorded view stays clean.
On your display
You can select what is on screen, read an answer, adjust the answer box, and continue working without minimizing the assistant.
In external capture
Phantom is designed to keep the applicable LowLighter surfaces out of supported screen shares, recordings, and screenshots, subject to your platform and capture setup.
The Phantom Pro suite
Phantom is not a single visual switch. Pro brings the privacy and presentation controls together so LowLighter stays useful to you while supported external capture remains clean.
Complete LowLighter protection
Phantom protects LowLighter as a whole, including the dashboard, answer box, selection tools, meetings overlay, notifications, and every other supported LowLighter surface. You can keep using the app normally while those surfaces stay out of supported external capture.
StealthType
Choose direct typing for compatible text fields when that fits your task better than copying an answer first.
GhostKeys
Use LowLighter's enhanced hotkeys for fast access to your configured actions without cluttering your screen.
System presence controls
Adjust how LowLighter presents itself in the desktop shell while Phantom is active, with the available options matched to your operating system.
Hide LowLighter from the tray
On Windows, hide the LowLighter tray icon while Phantom is active. On macOS, the equivalent option hides it from the menu bar.
Phantom appearance
Tune the answer box with a Phantom border, background opacity, text color, text opacity, and preview controls so it remains comfortable for you to read.
When Phantom is useful
The best use case is ordinary: you want help without adding visual clutter to the thing you are showing.
- 1
Presentations and demos
Keep a reference or a quick AI answer available to you while the audience sees the product, document, or deck you chose to share.
- 2
Live calls
Use LowLighter as a personal reference while staying engaged with the conversation and following your meeting's expectations.
- 3
Recorded walkthroughs
Keep the recording focused on the software or material you are explaining instead of the helper workspace you use behind the scenes.
- 4
Personal privacy
Keep your LowLighter prompts and responses separated from the visual record of your screen when you need a cleaner boundary around your work.
Make it yours
Open the Phantom page in LowLighter to enable it, preview the result, and choose the presentation that works for your display.
Start with Preview
Check the answer box before a call or recording so its contrast, spacing, and opacity are comfortable for your setup.
Keep the visual language calm
A subtle border and readable text are usually more useful than a distracting treatment. Phantom lets you set that balance.
Use the controls you prefer
Match your configured hotkeys and text-delivery preference to the task in front of you. LowLighter keeps those choices in the same workspace.
Why Phantom is Pro
Phantom is built for people who use LowLighter as an ongoing desktop workspace, not just an occasional answer tool. Pro includes the complete Phantom suite alongside the full set of LowLighter modes and higher usage limits.
If you are evaluating it, use the available preview or trial experience first. You can see whether it feels right before making it part of your everyday setup.
