What Is LowLighter Agent?

Agent works through longer browser, document, file, and desktop tasks while you choose how much access it has.

Give Agent a task and keep working

Answer handles a question about the part of your screen you select. Agent is for work with several steps. You can ask it to research a topic, create a Google Doc, build a slide deck, update a spreadsheet, or work with local documents.

The Agent prompt stays available over your work. You can type into it without pulling focus away from the app you are using, then expand the chat when you want to review progress or send a follow-up.

Agent is included with Pro and uses its own Agent credit balance.

Choose how Agent asks for access

You can change the permission mode from Agent settings. Pick the amount of review that fits the task.

Ask before running

Agent shows the proposed local action before it runs. You can allow or deny file reads, file changes, commands, and screen inspection as they come up.

Full access

Agent can continue through approved task types without asking at every step. Turn this on when you understand the task and want fewer interruptions.

Operating system permission dialogs and LowLighter safety limits still apply in both modes.

A browser reserved for Agent

When a task needs the web, Agent opens a dedicated browser window with its own LowLighter profile. It does not import the tabs, cookies, extensions, or history from your everyday browser profile.

Agent uses its own virtual cursor inside that browser. It does not move your system pointer, so you can keep using your mouse normally while Agent works.

If a site asks you to sign in, complete the sign-in yourself in that same tab. Then tell Agent to continue. The page and signed-in session remain in the Agent browser, so the task can continue where you left it.

This browser works well for tasks in Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and other sites that support the required actions. A site can still require confirmation, block an action, or change its controls.

Work Agent can take on

Browser work

Research a topic, collect information from pages, complete supported forms, and work inside browser apps.

Docs, Slides, and Sheets

Create a document, prepare slides, enter spreadsheet data, apply formulas, or make requested edits in a signed-in Google workspace.

DOCX and PDF files

Read supported Word and PDF files, update their content, and fill supported document fields while keeping the result as a file you can review.

Desktop and file tasks

Work with local files and compatible desktop apps when the task and your selected permissions allow it.

A workspace that remembers the job

Agent keeps conversations so a follow-up can refer to work already done. You can start a new conversation, return to an earlier one, or remove history you no longer need.

Instructions

Save preferences for how Agent should approach your work. Those instructions remain available when Agent windows close.

Files and images

Attach the material a task needs instead of describing it from memory.

Phantom support

Turn on Phantom for Agent to make the Agent overlay invisible to screenshots, recordings, and screen shares while it remains fully visible and interactive for you.

Available after the dashboard closes

Closing the main LowLighter window does not close Agent. The dedicated browser and Agent surfaces can remain available, and you can manage LowLighter from the Windows tray or macOS menu bar. Quitting LowLighter stops Agent.

Agent credits

Pro includes 500 Agent credits each month. Agent uses the included balance first. The included allowance resets with your monthly period.

Purchased credits carry over until you use them. They are used after the included monthly allowance.

Platforms and scheduled Loops

Agent is available on Windows and requires macOS 14 or later on Mac. Local tools follow the permissions and controls provided by each operating system.

On macOS, Loops can schedule an Agent task once, every day, or at a repeating interval. You can pause or delete a Loop from Agent settings.

The current Windows build shows the Loops page, but scheduled tasks are not available there yet. Regular Agent tasks, conversations, instructions, browser work, and supported file work remain available on Windows.

Frequently asked questions

Which plan includes Agent?

Agent is included with Pro. Pro accounts receive 500 included Agent credits each month and can buy extra credit packs.

Can Agent see my personal browser history?

Agent uses a separate LowLighter browser profile. It does not import the history, tabs, cookies, or extensions from your everyday browser profile.

What happens when a site needs a password?

Sign in yourself in the open Agent browser tab. Once the site accepts the sign-in, ask Agent to continue in that same tab.

Will every task complete?

A site, app, operating system permission, unsupported control, or account rule can stop a task. Agent keeps completed work available and reports when it cannot continue.
